Creative Book Arts

A college course exploring book construction through cloth, paint, and different binding techniques.

Creative Book Arts is a hands-on print project focused on physical book construction and material-led storytelling. I explored multiple binding methods using book cloth, acrylic paint, and construction paper, with strongest outcomes in Coptic stitch and Japanese stamp book formats. The process emphasized how texture and material choices influence meaning before any digital polish is added. I treated each build as both a craft exercise and a composition system in physical form. The outcome was a stronger foundation in tactile design thinking that carries into my digital layout work.
